About You
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Your responsibilities include managing food supplies, maintaining fridge/freezer temperatures, training new staff, and cleaning, always prioritizing Resident wellbeing.
We prefer candidates with some kitchen experience and either an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or the willingness to obtain one. Strong organizational skills, good record keeping, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. You should communicate considerately and kindly with Residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You must recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond. All staff will attend safeguarding training and are expected to seek advice and report concerns appropriately.
