My client is a well-established engineering consultancy who is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its building services team. The role would suit an engineer who is confident working independently while operating as part of a collaborative team.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering mechanical building services design across a range of projects. The company is looking for someone who can be trusted with projects, manage their workload, and drive designs forward with minimal supervision.
Key responsibilities include:
* Mechanical design of building services systems including HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, and domestic water services
* Producing calculations, specifications, reports, and technical drawings
* Managing and delivering projects or project packages from concept through to completion
* Liaising with clients, architects, and other design team members
* Attending design meetings and site visits where required
* Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and best practice
* Coordinating with electrical and other disciplines to ensure integrated design delivery
Requirements
* Experience in mechanical building services design
* Ability to run projects or work packages independently
* Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and building services design principles
* Experience with industry software such as AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Hevacomp, or similar
* Good communication and coordination skills
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
