Are you experienced in supporting children or young people one-to-one and looking for flexible work?
We are seeking dedicated English and Maths tutors to work directly with children and young people, helping them reach the academic standards of their peers. This role involves encouraging and supporting pupils outside of mainstream school settings.
About the role:
As a tutor, you will deliver engaging, informative sessions face-to-face with children at their residential homes. You will often collaborate with schools and social workers to support pupils receiving alternative provision.
What to expect in this tutoring role:
* Planning lessons and resources tailored to each child’s individual needs, focusing on developing their skills in either English or Maths.
* Creating engaging, creative lessons designed to help pupils catch up and build confidence in their learning.
* Managing and implementing behaviour strategies and coping mechanisms, as many pupils may have specific behavioural needs.
* Working at various locations based on the pupil’s requirements, with arrangements agreed upon before tuition begins.
What we are looking for in an English or Maths tutor:
* Expertise or strong experience in teaching English or Maths.
* Experience working one-to-one with children or young people.
* Familiarity with behaviour management and supporting pupils with additional needs.
* Ability to plan and deliver engaging core and cross-curricular sessions.
* Skills in helping pupils improve their academic progress and track their learning outcomes.
* Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
Additional requirements:
To be successful in your application, you must provide evidence of the skills and experience listed above. All applicants will undergo background checks and must hold a current DBS certificate (registered with the update service). Teaching Personnel can assist with the application process if needed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
