This organisation is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with industry experience to join their expanding Edinburgh office. The company boasts a low staff turnover rate and offers opportunities to work on interesting, challenging, and high-end projects.
Your new role
As a graduate electrical engineer, you will assist your team in ensuring the sustainability, efficiency, and safety of electrical systems across various building types. You will contribute to electrical design across a range of projects, working closely with the electrical team. Your duties will include designing and delivering electrical design outputs such as drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Your key responsibilities will be:
* Designing building electrical systems within a consultancy environment
* Producing detailed design calculations for electrical systems
* Preparing specifications
* Creating design notes and reports
* Developing design drawings from conception to detailed design
* Participating actively in all project stages from feasibility to completion across multiple sectors
What you'll need to succeed
* An accredited Building Services/Electrical Engineering degree or higher qualification
* Working towards chartership
* Passion and willingness to deliver electrical building services designs across sectors
* Experience in all or some stages of electrical design from concept to completion, under supervision
* Knowledge of digital tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, Amtech/Trimble, MS Office
* Basic understanding of technical and legislative requirements for electrical services
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* A positive attitude
