We are currently looking for an experienced SEND Teacher to work at a specialist SEND school in the Swale area on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have SEND / ASD or Autism experience and can come from any subject but Maths or PE would be ideal. You will be working with students aged 10 - 14 but teaching at a lower level.
As an SEND Teacher, you will work with pupils who have a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet each child's individual learning needs. You’ll play a key role in supporting academic progress, emotional development, and social skills within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Planning and delivering effective, personalised lessons for pupils with SEND
2. Creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
3. Managing classroom behaviour and using strategies to promote positive engagement
4. Collaborating with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and support staff to implement targeted interventions
5. Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching approaches accordingly
6. Working closely with parents, carers, and external professionals to support holistic development
7. Promoting pupils' communication, independence, and confidence
