Rate of Pay: £21.64 - £28.78 per hour
Summary
The Project Support Officer provides essential administrative and project support to the Strategic Programmes and Strategy team within the Children and Young People Directorate. Working across departments and partner organisations, you will assist in planning, monitoring, and coordinating projects that support the Councils mission to deliver equitable and high-quality services for children, families, and communities in Islington.
This role is ideal for a highly organised, proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can balance multiple priorities, and is passionate about supporting positive change for young people.
Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive project and administrative support across a portfolio of programmes.
* Prepare, maintain, and update project documentation, records, and databases.
* Support programme governance by coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and tracking actions.
* Act as a first point of contact for internal teams, partners, and external stakeholders.
* Facilitate effective communication across teams and contribute to project communications plans, including digital and social media.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 (or higher) in Business Administration or a related qualification, or equivalent relevant experience.
Requirements
* Clear knowledge and understanding of project management
* Proven experience managing documentation, records, and scheduling complex meetings.
* Ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders professionally and sensitively.
* Ability to plan and prioritise workloads effectively in a changing environment.
* Skilled in collecting, analysing, and presenting data clearly and accurately.
* Competent in using data to inform decisions and demonstrate progress.
* Strong command of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Experience using SharePoint, Teams, and other collaborative digital platforms.
