Surveyor

Join our Building Services team within the Place Directorate as a Surveyor. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in construction and building maintenance. You will be instrumental in maintaining and improving building standards, overseeing various projects, and contributing to our Asset Management Plan and Investment Strategy.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Use technical knowledge to maintain and improve buildings, writing detailed work plans and specifications.
* Oversee maintenance and repair projects, ensuring they meet high standards and comply with relevant regulations.
* Conduct surveys and provide support for the Asset Management Plan and Investment Strategy.
* Provide expert advice on gas heating, electrical systems, rewiring, maintenance projects, and structural issues including damp and timber infestations.
* Manage contracts related to gas servicing, electrical and heating maintenance, and planned maintenance.
* Carry out stock condition surveys, estimating, and quantity surveying tasks.
* Act as a technical supervisor for building works and collaborate with your team.
* Deputise for managers as needed and help improve service performance and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* GCSE (Grade C/4 or above) in English & Maths.
* ONC or Level 3 BTEC/City & Guilds in Construction.
* HNC or Level 4 in Construction or equivalent experience.
* Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.
* Experience with databases/contact management systems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to meet targets and work effectively with partners.
* Proficient IT skills.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety, Equality, and Safeguarding.
* Teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.
* Understanding of budget management is desirable.
* Driving licence and access to a car are desirable.
* Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
