Based in the Aberdeenshire area, they are seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer with an Electrical Bias to join their hands on Engineering team. The role:
Working within the Engineering department and across the production shift pattern, you will provide technical support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of manufacturing operations. This includes conducting preventative and corrective maintenance (PPM), executing high-quality repairs, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring full safety compliance.
* Carry out regular PPMs to keep equipment running safely and smoothly
* Fix faults quickly and to a high standard to reduce downtime
* Update or create maintenance schedules and instructions when needed
* Make sure all safety checks are done on time and fully compliant
* Use engineering systems to log work and support audits
* Help train apprentices and share your knowledge with the team
* Support line start-ups and tweak equipment to get the best product quality
* Assist with new equipment installs and project work
The Candidate:
An ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in electrical fault finding, repair, and installation, alongside basic mechanical aptitude. You will have a solid grasp of industrial electrical systems, PLC fault diagnosis (not programming), and a working understanding of pneumatic systems. Familiarity with food safety standards and manufacturing within an FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) environment is essential.
You should be comfortable using engineering systems, proficient in MS Word and Excel, and capable of interpreting technical documentation in English. A hands-on approach, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities will be crucial to your success.
* HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
* Prior experience in a similar role within a food or drink FMCG environment ideally
* Sound understanding of maintenance techniques and fault diagnostics
* Ability to work shifts and adapt to production demands
* Strong understanding of food hygiene and quality standards - beneficial
* IT literate and competent with test equipment and hand tools
* Basic knowledge of plant systems such as pumps and air compressors is advantageous
