We’re working with a friendly, Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Wolverhampton that’s looking for an English Cover Supervisor to join them as soon as possible.
This is a full-time role with the potential to continue long term, perfect for someone who enjoys supporting students, keeping lessons on track, and bringing a calm, confident presence to the classroom.
You’ll be stepping into a well-run school where staff support each other, behaviour systems are clear, and the English department is passionate about helping students find their voice.
What you’ll be doing
No planning marathons here. As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be:
* Delivering pre-set English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
* Keeping students focused and engaged while the teacher is away
* Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
* Supporting students with tasks and encouraging participation
* Working closely with the English department and wider staff team
What the school is looking for
You don’t have to be a qualified teacher, but you do need confidence in the classroom.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience working with young people (schools, tutoring, youth work, coaching etc.)
* Strong communication and classroom presence
* A genuine interest in English and literacy
* The ability to keep students motivated and on track
* A calm, organised approach when leading a class
