Job Description Summary

GE's Power Conversion & Storage business, part of GE Vernova, provides electrification systems critical to customers' power and energy needs for high-performance applications. We collaborate with major energy, maritime, and industrial organizations to enable energy efficiency and decarbonization, through specialist motors, drives, and control technologies.


Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead the Automation and Controls Systems organization for the Power Conversion & Storage, Northern Europe business. You will oversee controls projects across marine, energy, and industrial applications for new builds and services. This role requires strategic thinking, deep engineering knowledge, and strong leadership to guide multidisciplinary teams towards project goals.


Essential Responsibilities

* Lead and manage engineering teams, ensuring solutions meet customer, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
* Provide technical and operational leadership to support backlog delivery and business growth.
* Ensure effective engineering planning and operational excellence.
* Uphold principles of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
* Collaborate with Business Engineering leaders for planning, estimating, risk identification, and mitigation strategies.
* Drive improvements in engineering processes, tools, and solutions to enhance customer value and efficiency.
* Support bid and proposal preparations, including technical risk assessments.
* Enhance quality standards and best practices across the team.
* Mentor and develop team members.
* Provide technical insights through project reviews.
* Foster a collaborative, innovative work environment.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.


Qualifications

* Degree in control systems, electrical/electronic engineering, computer science, or related.
* Chartered Engineer or working towards it, with continuous professional development.
* Proven experience in automation/control systems engineering and project leadership.


Desired Characteristics and Experience

* Strong knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, HMI, DCS, Networks, automation technologies.
* Leadership experience managing engineering teams through project lifecycle.
* Experience in system integration projects; knowledge of OT cybersecurity and IEC 61508 is advantageous.

* Strong operational leadership and multi-tasking skills.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to build and motivate teams, influence stakeholders, and drive improvements.
