Overview
Support Worker Opportunity. We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and proactive Support Worker to join the care team of an individual living with Rett Syndrome. Diagnosed at the age of 3, this person has a complex neurological condition that affects communication, memory, mobility, coordination, and other brain functions. They underwent spinal surgery to correct scoliosis, during which two spinal rods were fitted to help straighten their spine. Despite challenges, they live a full and engaging life with the support of a caring team, and we are looking for the right person to join that team.
Role and Responsibilities
As a Support Worker, you will provide one-to-one assistance tailored to the individual’s physical, emotional, and communication needs. This includes:
* Support with personal care
* Mobility assistance
* Mealtime assistance
* Helping them engage in meaningful activities at home and in the community
Working Hours
Alternate Saturday 9am–1pm; Sunday 9am–1pm.

* Compassionate, patient, and respectful
* Reliable and consistent
* Experience with complex care or a willingness to learn
* Strong communication skills, including non-verbal methods
* A genuine desire to improve someone’s quality of life
* Experience with and/or willingness to work with individuals with complex needs
* Clean driving licence required to transport the client in their own vehicle
