Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their In-House Legal Team. The client seeks an experienced commercial lawyer focused on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-focused legal advice to the company's business and corporate services partners globally.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide legal support on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
* Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related matters; support day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal issues.
* Help ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations across jurisdictions and within network policies.
* Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal advice on their activities.
* Develop and implement governance and operational policies, procedures, and playbooks.
* Review and advise on new services and solutions, including governance processes and legal/regulatory issues related to technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI.
* Manage external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Provide practical, business-focused advice while managing risk and compliance obligations.
* Deliver presentations and write articles on key legal topics.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
* UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or relevant in-house experience.
* Proven expertise in leading complex legal and regulatory matters.
* Strong risk management and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify issues and suggest mitigation strategies.
* Experience negotiating, drafting, reviewing transactions, and advising on laws across multiple jurisdictions.
* Ability to work independently and manage complex cases while collaborating with teams.
* Capable of balancing legal risk management with business growth needs.
* Self-motivated, thriving in a fast-paced, global environment.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
