Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer / Engineering Geologist

A great opportunity for an experienced Geoenvironmental Engineer or Engineering Geologist to step into a senior role, leading site investigations and delivering technically strong, high-quality projects across the UK.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of projects from initial design through to delivery — managing site investigations, mentoring junior staff, and acting as a key point of contact for clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, manage, and supervise ground investigations
* Cost projects and coordinate subcontractors
* Attend site to oversee investigations and assessments
* Produce interpretative geotechnical and geoenvironmental reports
* Undertake and review GQRA (human health, ground gas, controlled waters)
* Supervise foundations, earthworks, remediation, and validation works
* Prepare Health & Safety documentation and ensure compliance
* Lead site meetings and liaise with clients
* Mentor and support junior team members
Requirements
* Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or related discipline
* Minimum 5 years’ UK experience in contaminated land and ground investigation
* Strong understanding of UK regulatory guidance
* Experience delivering geoenvironmental and geotechnical projects
* Knowledge of GQRA and foundation assessment
* Coal mining investigation/remediation experience (desirable)
* Experience with Openground, AutoCAD, or QGIS (desirable)
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
* Working towards Chartered status (or already Chartered)
* Full UK driving licence
