Overview
In your role as Head of Service at HC-One, you'll value one thing above all: Kindness. It carries across every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist Care homes. Every single person who works here understands that our Residents are people just like them with their own stories to tell. By joining HC-One you'll have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to those people.
Responsibilities
As Head of Service you will help to prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that our residents will love. You will assist and prepare the cakes for the morning tea trolley and the lunch‑time dessert/cakes. You will demonstrate the highest standards in cleanliness, food safety and hygiene. Whether you are maintaining food supplies and fridge/freezer temperatures, showing new starters how to use the equipment or scrubbing that last bit of spilled food from inside the oven, you will always have resident wellbeing in mind above anything else.
Qualifications
HC-One are looking for someone with kitchen experience. You must be aware of the Food Safety Act 1990, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, RIDDOR and COSHH regulations. Great record‑keeping and organisational skills will be essential, as will the ability to follow recipes. Whenever you communicate with a Resident or co‑worker, you will be truly considerate and kind, which is part of your nature.
Working Hours and Pay
We have two roles available working 8 a.m.–6 p.m. for 31.5 hours per week. The rota consists of four shifts in one week and three shifts the next, on a two‑week cycle. Pay rate is subject to experience and qualifications.
