(https://ninerbikes.com/) VAAST Bicycles (https://www.vaastbikes.com/) Summary We’re looking for a detail-oriented Financial Assistant to support the day-to-day accounting operations. This role will be involved across both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, along with general financial tasks to support the finance team. Ideal for someone currently studying AAT Level 3 or 4 and looking to grow their career in finance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Accounts Receivable Set up and maintain customer accounts Perform credit checks Allocate incoming payments Raise and process debit/credit notes Issue customer statements and manage debt collection Prepare weekly AR reports Upload sales invoices to customer portals Accounts Payable Maintain supplier records Process and code invoices Match invoices to purchase orders Coordinate invoice approvals and respond to supplier queries Banking and Payments Initiate payment runs and process payments via online banking portal Maintain cashbook and carry out weekly bank reconciliations Month-End and Reporting Prepare balance sheet reconciliations Post journals and support month-end adjustments Assist with account reconciliations and general accounting tasks Other Duties Contribute to administrative and finance-related projects as needed Support the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Skills and Experience Required: Actively studying AAT Level 3 or 4 or relevant experience Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel) Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar) is an advantage Confident working with numbers, including percentages, interest calculations, and reconciliations Able to follow processes and instructions accurately Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail Competencies Customer Focus - Aims to satisfy all customers while maintaining effective relationships, both internal and external. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office - Proficient in Excel and Word.
