Join Our Team as a Recovery Worker!
At Turning Point, we believe that every individual has a unique Turning Point—a moment when they take a small yet significant step towards a brighter future. With your support, these moments can lead to transformative journeys. As a passionate Recovery Worker, you will play a vital role in crafting personalized, flexible, and recovery-focused support plans that empower individuals to regain control of their lives and face the future with confidence.
We are excited to welcome dedicated and skilled Recovery Workers to our brand new Ashford-based Recovery House. This residential service features 5 rooms and offers up to 5 days of support for individuals experiencing enduring mental health challenges during a crisis.
During their stay, service users will benefit from a safe and therapeutic environment, complete with quiet spaces, social areas, and sensory activities. Our person-centered approach ensures that service users are actively engaged in their support journey, helping them build skills, develop coping mechanisms, and enhance their overall well-being.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Recovery Worker, you will provide recovery-focused support tailored to each service user's needs. Your strong communication skills and ability to demonstrate unconditional positive regard will be essential in fostering a supportive environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing guidance and support to service users
* Assisting with medication management
* Maintaining daily records and writing incident reports
* Helping to induct new staff members
* Ensuring cleanliness and adherence to infection prevention measures
You will work on a flexible roster, including office hours, evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins. We are also looking for two dedicated night Recovery Workers who will primarily work alone but will have support from a site-based colleague in emergencies.
Are You the Ideal Candidate?
While previous experience in the mental health sector is a plus, what truly matters is your genuine desire to support individuals in their recovery journey. We seek compassionate, proactive, and professional individuals who are motivated to assist service users with mental health and complex care needs.
Essential qualities include:
* A positive, non-judgmental approach to support
* Strong communication skills to connect with people from diverse backgrounds
