About the Role We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our finance team at our London Head Office. This is a key role, responsible for overseeing core financial operations, producing timely and accurate management accounts, and ensuring full compliance with statutory and HMRC regulations. You will be responsible for the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, manage internal payroll processes, and play a pivotal role in the preparation and analysis of financial data to support business decision-making. Key Responsibilities * Oversee the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, including future line management of relevant staff * Manage all core accounting operations (including month end) and ensure adherence to financial procedures * Ensure all financial reporting complies with statutory requirements and HMRC regulations * Produce daily/weekly cashflow forecasts and manage drawdown reporting and monitor working capital * Preparation of monthly board packs, delivering insight through cost analysis, margin analysis, and commercial commentary * Manage/prepare internal PAYE payroll submissions and associated pension administration (Auto Enrolment) * Calculation of consultant commissions in line with commission structures * Process and submit CIS returns, VAT returns, and intermediary reports * Maintain and document business processes to strengthen internal controls * Oversee invoice discounting processes and ensure accuracy of financial inputs * Administer compliance tasks, including client/candidate financial checks and onboarding * Expense analysis and PSA data preparation * Support continuous improvement of finance operations, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting * Able to handle the day-to-day audit relationship, diligently working through the requests, knowing when appropriate to escalate * Preparation of monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis against budget and forecast * Conduct client, project, and consultant profitability reviews to inform pricing and margin decisions * Assist with the annual budget and rolling forecast process * Collaborate with department heads and sales teams to improve financial understanding and accountability for results * Provide ad hoc analysis and recommendations to support decision-making across operations and commercial teams Skills & Experience Required * CIMA or ACCA qualified (or working towards) * Proven experience in a similar management accounting role * Strong working knowledge of Xero; experience with Intime and Bullhorn is helpful * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficient in Word and PowerPoint * Excellent attention to detail with strong data entry and analytical skills * Knowledge of intermediary reporting and HMRC compliance preferred * Experience managing CIS, VAT, and payroll returns * Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines effectively * Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders What We’re Looking For -A proactive self-starter with a strong sense of ownership -Highly organised and confident managing multiple tasks -Passionate about continuous improvement and financial accuracy -A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment To Apply: Please submit your CV and a short cover note detailing your relevant experience and availability.
