Team Leader Child Safety Division: Child Protection and Family Support Position No: 003631 Salary: Child Safety Qualified Stream Level 3, $130,000 - $ 142,480 pa + Super - (DOC) CPCSA 2024 Work Type: Permanent - Full Time, Fixed Term - Full Time Location: Derby Closing Date: 2025-09-17 4:00 PM (YYYY-MM-DD)

The Opportunity
As a Team Leader Child Safety you will work in a rewarding role aiming to make a difference across the areas of child protection, children in care and family support.

As you manage a district team who is responsible for responding to concerns about the safety and wellbeing of children your day to day may involve:

1. Supervising team members in providing case work services and planning to identified families and children in the care of the CEO which address child protection issues and strengthen family functioning,
2. Undertaking complex case work activities with the team as required,
3. Reporting to the District Director on the activities of the team,
4. Liasing with appropriate cultural and Aboriginal services and communities that provide an identity for the child/ren or family that the Department is working with towards a goal of strengthening family functioning.
5. Assisting the District Director in the recruitment, supervision and training of other staff as required.

There is currently 1 fixed term position available commencing ASAP for a period of 6 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

The successful applicant or applicants assessed as suitable through this process may receive further offers of contract or permanent employment in this or similar roles.

6. Government Regional Officer Housing (GROH) - subject to eligibility and availability.
7. Subsidised electricity from September to April.

9. 5 Days Commuted Time Off in Lieu + 5 Days North West Leave after completing 12 months service in the region.
10. Annual leave travel concession – After 12 months service in the region, the Department will cover cost for return flights to and from Perth for yourself and any eligible dependents.
11. Regional salary packaging.

Qualification Requirements
You must have a Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology, or relevant human services area to be eligible for this position. All overseas qualifications must be assessed for Australian equivalency.
