Job Title: Safe and Well Officer
Location: Maidstone Fire Station
Hours: Full time - 37 hours per week (with some evening and weekend work when required)
Pension: Automatic membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme – career average pension scheme with 18.5% employer contribution

Base salary: Grade 5 - £32,461 - £36,482 per annum depending on experience

Being a Safe and Well Officer
Do you want to help people feel safe in their homes?
Safe and Well officers visit customers in their homes to help them live safely and maintain independence. You will improve fire safety for customers and offer support alongside other agencies to support customers' health and well being.
The role of a safe and well officer is a predominantly lone working role. An enhanced DBS check will be undertaken before an offer of appointment can be made.
What you'll do
* Visit customers in their homes and assess the risk of fire
* Offer and fit free fire prevention equipment
* Where required, work alongside multi-agencies to ensure the customer has a holistic package of support
* Work closely with KFRS safeguarding team to ensure vulnerable customers are appropriately supported
* You will have a local base station but will be required to work county wide and have use of a fire service vehicle
