Responsibilities
* Post 1 – The post holder will be expected to undertake outpatient sessions and L/A Minor Oral Surgery sessions as well as day case operating lists carrying out mostly dento-alveolar and soft tissue surgery at Leighton Hospital Crewe and Aintree University Hospital Maxillofacial Units. A requirement to cover A&E and ward emergencies is also required.
* Post 2 – The post holder will be expected to undertake outpatient sessions and L/A Minor Oral Surgery sessions and soft tissue surgery at Ormskirk Hospital and Aintree University Hospital Maxillofacial Units. The unit in Ormskirk Hospital is led by Mr Mark Boyle and Mr Owais Khattak and works closely with the Aintree unit. At Aintree the post holder will carry out mainly MOS under LA as well as dentoalveolar clinics and assist and undertake minor skin surgery under LA.
* The post holder will supervise, support and collaborate with other practitioners as agreed to be appropriate with the Clinical Director. The Speciality Doctor will have a role in the training and supervising DCTs in OPD and L/A Minor oral surgery.
* The post holder will be expected to undertake OPD sessions and L/A Minor Oral Surgery sessions as well as minor skin surgery (appropriate to level of experience at Aintree).
