Lead the guest experience at one of Wiltshire’s most distinctive luxury destinations. Set within 2,000 acres of historic parkland in Calne, Bowood Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort offers a unique blend of 4-star hospitality, an award-winning spa, and a championship golf course. Our guests come to switch off, celebrate, and indulge—and the Front Office team plays a central role in making that happen.

We are recruiting a Front Office Manager / Front of House Manager to take full ownership of the guest journey, leading from the front and setting the tone for exceptional service from arrival through to departure. This is a full‑time, permanent opportunity for an experienced hotel Front Office Manager working on a shift rota basis Monday‑Sunday.


The Role

Reporting to the Deputy General Manager, you will lead all Front Office operations, overseeing reception, nights, guest relations, and porters. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will balance service excellence with strong commercial awareness.

You will be responsible for ensuring a seamless guest experience while driving performance across key areas including guest satisfaction, team engagement, and revenue.


Key Responsibilities

* Leading, developing, and motivating a multi‑functional Front Office team
* Owning the end‑to‑end guest journey, ensuring consistently high service standards
* Managing daily operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and a warm, professional welcome
* Driving revenue through effective room allocation, upselling, and system utilisation
* Monitoring performance against KPIs including guest feedback, RevPAR, and departmental costs
* Working closely with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Reservations, and Accounts to ensure smooth operations across the hotel
* Recruiting, training, and coaching team members to build a strong, engaged team
* Identifying opportunities to improve processes, enhance service, and increase profitability


About You

* Proven experience in a senior Front Office role within a quality hotel or resort environment
* A hands‑on leadership style – you will be visible, approachable, and lead by example
* Strong commercial awareness and confidence managing budgets and driving revenue
* The ability to build and develop high‑performing teams
* Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to engage both guests and colleagues
* A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

You will also understand the realities of a busy hospitality environment, including weekend and peak‑period working.

Most importantly, you will be part of a unique estate environment where no two days are the same and where you can genuinely shape the guest experience.
