Mechanical Technician – 8‑i, Winsford, Cheshire, CW7 2PE
We are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Technician for our heavy industrial plant. This full‑time contract role offers an annual salary of £49,405.
Shift Pattern
* 3 weeks Mon–Fri 6 am‑2 pm
* 2 weeks Mon–Thu 1 pm‑9 pm, Fri 9:30 am‑5:30 pm
* 1 week Mon–Thu 8 pm‑6 am
Responsibilities
* Deliver planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across the site.
* Diagnose faults and repair mechanical breakdowns efficiently.
* Maintain underground plant and equipment to high safety standards.
* Install new machinery and modify existing plant.
* Support shaft and surface engineering operations as required.
* Carry out cross‑skilled tasks including welding, burning and rigging.
* Ensure housekeeping, safety and statutory compliance are upheld.
* Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Completed Mechanical or Engineering Apprenticeship.
* Heavy industrial, mining, quarrying or plant maintenance experience.
* Strong mechanical fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
* Welding, burning and rigging capability.
* Basic instrumentation and IT skills.
