42.5 hours per week (8-5 Monday- Friday)
About the role:
We’re currently seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our team, supporting a busy responsive repairs contract in Dover. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality carpentry repairs and maintenance in occupied social housing properties, helping ensure residents’ homes are safe, functional, and well maintained.
You’ll be responding to a variety of day-to-day repair requests, including tasks such as replacing internal doors, repairing skirting boards and architraves, fitting kitchen units, completing general finishing works and general Fire regulation works. No two days are the same, and your ability to work efficiently, solve problems on-site, and provide excellent customer service will be essential.

We’re looking for someone experienced in domestic carpentry, confident working in occupied homes, and committed to getting the job done right the first time.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Carry out day-to-day carpentry repairs in occupied properties as part of a responsive maintenance service
2. Replace and repair internal doors, frames, handles, locks, and hinges
3. Fit and adjust kitchen units, worktops, cupboard doors.
4. Install or replace skirting boards, architraves, and other decorative joinery
5. Repair or replace timber flooring, stair components, and handrails where required
6. Fire regulation works repairs and installs
7. Make good following repairs, including basic patch plastering or tiling as needed
8. Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety regulations
9. Accurately record job details, materials used, and completion notes using handheld devices or job sheets
10. Work professionally and respectfully in residents’ homes, maintaining a clean and safe working environment
11. Identify and report any additional works, safeguarding concerns, or property issues beyond the scope of the job
12. Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures at all times
13. Provided high levels of customer care
Role Criteria:
14. Proven experience in domestic repairs and maintenance in a carpentry position
15. Experience in the above duties
16. Full UK driving licence
17. Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
18. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
19. Excellent customer service skills, with experience working in occupied homes
20. Good understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices
21. Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems to record work
22. Willingness to participate in out-of-hours emergency rota
