Job Description
As a Thermoforming Setter, you’ll play a key role in operating and maintaining our thermoforming production lines to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Reporting to the Thermoforming Shift Leader, you’ll work hands‑on with advanced machinery, including Illig and Kiefel thermoforming machines, contributing to high‑quality output and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
* Starting up, running, and shutting down thermoforming machines.
* Performing full tool changes, insert changes, and paperwork changes within standard times.
* Operating and maintaining inline systems, including extruders, padding machines, punch units, and glue systems.
* Ensuring product quality meets customer specifications and promptly addressing any defects.
* Troubleshooting and resolving breakdowns or stoppages, escalating issues when required.
* Recording accurate production and quality data on our ERP system (M3).
* Cleaning and conducting routine maintenance on machinery.
* Supporting team members and shift leaders to meet production and efficiency targets.
* Support other departments and assist with packing duties in the Operator role when required, including ad-hoc tasks to meet business needs.
The work environment is dynamic and fast‑paced, involving hands‑on technical tasks in a manufacturing setting. The role requires attention to detail, adaptability, and teamwork in a noisy, warm environment. Your safety and well‑being are a priority, supported by PPE and rigorous safety measures.
Qualifications
* Experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
* A team player with good communication skills and high attention to detail.
* Technical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently.
* Awareness of health and safety practices.
* Experience operating or setting production machinery.
* Knowledge of thermoforming processes or plastic manufacturing.
* Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., M3).

Shift Pattern:
* Panama Schedule: 12‑hour shifts covering days, nights, and weekends, averaging 42 hours per week.

Responsibilities
* Perform regular inspections of the facilities to identify and address maintenance needs.
* Coordinate and oversee repair work, maintenance activities, and facility upgrades.
* Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for building systems and equipment.
* Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of facilities.
* Monitor and manage utility consumption (electricity, water, gas) to ensure efficient use and cost control.
* Analyse utility bills and usage patterns to identify opportunities for energy savings and sustainability initiatives.
* Coordinate with utility providers to resolve issues and optimise service.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
* Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
* Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct drills.
* Liaise with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely and quality service delivery.
* Negotiate contracts and manage service agreements.
* Evaluate vendor performance and address any issues or discrepancies.
* Assist in space planning and allocation to optimise the use of office and facility space.
* Coordinate office moves and setup of workstations and equipment.
* Maintain accurate records of facility layouts and occupancy.
* Assist in the preparation of the facilities budget and monitor expenses.
* Identify cost‑saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce costs without compromising service quality.
* Plan and execute facility‑related projects, such as renovations, expansions, and relocations.
* Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
* Utilise facility management software and tools to track maintenance activities, manage work orders, and monitor performance.
* Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in facility management and utility conservation.
