About the Role
Are you looking to take your nursing (RGN, RNLD, RMN), occupational therapy, paramedic, or physiotherapy career in a new direction? Do you want a role that values your attention to detail, compassion, and empathy, while offering work-life balance, education, and opportunities to develop into the medico-legal profession? Or are you interested in transitioning into Occupational/Vocational pathways?
* You will assess up to four to six customers per day.
* Assessments may be conducted on paper, via telephone, video, or face-to-face.
* You will record clinical observations, questions, and create written reports.
* Reports are passed to the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) for decision-making regarding customer support.
* You will assess benefits such as Personal Independent Payments or Employment and Support Allowance managed by DWP.
Training & Development
Customers will present multiple clinical issues; you will receive industry-leading training from experienced clinical tutors. This training will equip you with the skills to support customers and transfer your current medical knowledge to this role.
Full training lasts approximately 6 months, during which you will be paid. Your registration with RGN or HCPC will be maintained, with support for revalidation.
After training, ongoing CPD is provided, with over 100 hours per year, along with support for revalidation and career development within the organization. You will be assigned a clinical supervisor and have the opportunity to study for the Diploma in Disability Assessment Medicine accredited by the FOM.
Your Requirements
You should be a nurse, OT, Paramedic, or Physiotherapist with experience primarily in in-patient roles, dealing with diverse clinical conditions. A minimum of 1 year of experience is preferred. IT skills are advantageous, including typing at 30 words per minute. The ideal candidate will be highly literate, detail-oriented, and possess adaptable communication skills.
