Our client, a rapidly scaling, product-led business services company with an impressive client retention rate, is seeking a versatile and dynamic COO. This role requires a deep understanding of both operations and finance, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The COO will collaborate with the CEO and various departments to capitalize on growth opportunities, including large cross-functional projects and international ventures. A key responsibility will be to ensure each function can make better decisions using relevant data.
Responsibilities
* Produce and then execute a strategy for Operations, aligned with growth trajectory of the business
* Responsible for ensuring the scalability of overall business, including production operations, business support functions, and data and technology
* Achieve high levels of engagement through inspirational leadership.
* Oversee increase in throughput, productivity and quality, and a reduction in waste, rework, and defects
* Oversee development of supply chain and 3PL networks, ensure value for money and supplier performance
* Identify potential operational risks and develop mitigation strategies
* Develop and refine pricing strategies for various products, optimizing for profitability and market competitiveness
* Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making
* Design and implement financial and operational processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy, to support a scaling business
* Create integrated reporting systems that provide real-time insights into business health, operational and financial metrics that support timely decision making across the business
Experience/ Skills
* Previous experience overseeing operations in a rapidly growing, early-stage business.
* Experience working in a high volume manufacturing or physical operations business
* Proven experience in F, P and A, business strategy, and operations
* Able to make sound commercial decisions and contribute to the business’s strategic direction
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various business functions
* Fundraising experience, ideally Series A / B would be advantageous
