We are looking to hire an Ion Transport Designer to design, model and test waveforms that transport ions in a fast and efficient manner. What You’ll Accomplish:
* Design waveforms for fast and efficient ion transport on surface ion traps
* Design waveforms for inter-module connections using UQConnect*
* Contribute to ion trap designs optimised for fast ion transport
* Contribute to the development of accurate physics models and optimisation software
* Work with the hardware teams to implement ion transport methods on our devices
* Analyse experimental results and compare them against predictions
Requirements
The 3 Most Critical Attributes We’ll Use to Compare Candidates
1. Experience in designing waveforms for ion transport
2. Strong background in modelling classical and quantum dynamics and numerical optimisation
3. A proven track record of collaboration with experimental research groups and/or quantum hardware industry
Must-have Skills (in addition to the above):
* Proficient in writing scientific code e.g. using Python
* PhD in ion trap physics or similar relevant topic
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, with published results in field of research.
Nice-to-have Skills:
* Experience in quantum computing or quantum technologies
