Role Title: Senior Supply Chain Development Manager
We have a hybrid & flexible working policy of 3 days per week in the office, with travel opportunities to our offices in Turin (Italy) and Lyon (France) to collaborate with our Global Engineering Team.
About the Role:
newcleo is driving an exciting international programme to develop and deploy our innovative Lead-cooled Fast Reactor technology. Our Supply Chain team handles Procurement, Contract Management, and Supply Chain Management. We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Senior Supply Chain Development Manager to focus on strategic supply chain development and supplier relationship management.
You will work within the global supply chain team, identifying gaps in supply chain capability, developing and leading supply chain activities, and liaising with colleagues across France and Italy to ensure a cohesive global approach. Close collaboration with Engineering and Project Delivery teams across Europe is essential.
This startup role requires a hands-on, proactive individual comfortable with early-stage programmes, ambiguity, and change. The position offers growth opportunities through active supply chain management and collaboration with the Head of Supply Chain and Contracts UK, with potential for career progression.
The role reports directly to the Head of Supply Chain and Contracts - UK and interfaces with colleagues in France, Italy, and other UK operational teams, including the UK PMO, Quality, ESG, Stakeholder Engagement, and Finance.
What You’ll be Doing:
1. Lead early supplier engagement in the UK and globally, supporting supplier development activities.
2. Identify capability and capacity risks, opportunities, gaps, and develop mitigation plans.
3. Create a global supply chain map and database, including performance assessment criteria.
4. Lead supplier qualification activities to establish the approved suppliers list.
5. Develop collaborative relationships with supply chain partners.
6. Achieve accreditation to ISO 44001.
7. Develop policies, procedures, standards, and governance.
8. Manage agreements and partnerships outside traditional supply chains.
9. Identify opportunities to optimize supply chain efficiencies.
10. Contribute to packaging and category management strategies.
11. Map ESG requirements within the supply chain, monitor, and report performance.
12. Maintain a supplier portal for stakeholder engagement.
13. Deliver training to colleagues as needed.
14. Support procurement and contract management activities when appropriate.
Your Skills and Experience:
We are interested in candidates with:
* Senior experience in supply chain development within the UK Nuclear sector across various goods and services.
* Experience developing and implementing supplier qualification and performance measurement processes.
* Experience creating supplier relationship management strategies.
* Knowledge of the nuclear sector's supplier landscape and development initiatives.
* Familiarity with NEC, FIDIC, or similar contracts is advantageous.
* Experience with procurement, contract management, and supply chain activities pre- and post-contract.
* A degree in Business Management, Quantity Surveying, Commercial/Cost Management, or related, plus professional qualifications such as MCIPS, MRICS, or equivalent.
* Eligibility to work full-time in the UK and obtain security clearance to at least BPSS standard.
