How We Hire

Everyone is welcome at M&S. No exceptions. It's your background, abilities and differences that make you, uniquely you. And when you're part of M&S, that individuality has the potential to make waves.

About the role

This section tells you all you need to know about the position and its responsibilities, outlining everything we hope to see in a successful candidate.

Summary

In this role, with a core focus on Store Compliance, Property Management, and Loss Prevention technologies, you will lead major initiatives that modernise compliance processes, improve store execution, and reduce exposure to theft and fraud. You will champion the scaled introduction of intelligent sensing, monitoring, and audit technologies to strengthen controls across stores and assets, enhance data‑led decision making, and simplify regulatory and operational workflows.

This role demands a hands‑on delivery leader with strong technical competence, outstanding foresight, and the ability to navigate sophisticated, high‑risk environments. You will foster collaboration across engineering, product, retail operations, property, finance, and vendor partners—driving continuous improvement and embedding a culture of accountability, compliance, and evidence‑based decision making.

Here are just a few of the benefits that make working here even more rewarding:

* Competitive holiday allowance with the option to buy more
* Discretionary bonus schemes linked to your performance and ours
* Strong pension and life assurance to help plan for the future
* Tailored induction and training to support your development from day one

What you'll do

Using your technical expertise, you will remove delivery blockers, improve quality, and ensure programme efficiency. You will apply agile delivery practices to drive organisation‑wide change, building trust through predictable execution, transparency, and clear communication, following the M&S Way.

More specifically, the Senior TPM role embodies 'own it and get it done', with key responsibilities including:

* Lead sophisticated, multi-disciplinary initiatives and programmes within a product-led organisation, delivering innovative digital and IoT solutions that uplift colleague experience and operational efficiency.
* Track and lead end-to-end product and programme execution, ensuring delivery against outcomes through effective cadences, progress reporting, and transparent communication.
* Develop strategic roadmaps, objectives and key results, and investment priorities with Product Managers and Engineering to accelerate delivery of M&S's colleague productivity ambitions and ensure a customer‑first approach across Tech.
* Own and assure the technical delivery and release strategy, advising senior partners, leading risks, and acting as the primary customer concern point for high-impact issues.
* Drive proactive dependency and integration planning, enabling confident delivery across products, domains, and operational teams.

Who you are

* Experienced in agile delivery at scale, with a track record leading sophisticated transformation programmes across operational and risk‑sensitive environments.
* Skilled in service management, with a strong control‑ and compliance‑first attitude that ensures store‑facing technologies are robust, reliable, and continuously improved.
* Commercially astute, able to build cases and lead vendor performance for high‑value delivery related to estate management and loss prevention.
* A strategic problem‑solver who challenges assumptions and drives innovative, technology‑led approaches to improving compliance and reducing operational risk.
* An outstanding partner manager, capable of influencing and engaging at all levels—including executive leadership, store operations, property, and finance.
