Are you passionate about helping young people reach their full potential? Doucecroft School, part of Autism Anglia, is looking for a Lunch Activity Co-ordinator to join our friendly and dedicated team. The successful applicant will promote and safeguard the welfare of pupils. To ensure the security, safety, and well-being of the pupils, through coordinating a variety of activities that will promote pupil social, emotional, and physical development during the lunchtime period and after school clubs.
Location: Doucecroft School, Eight Ash Green, Colchester, CO6
Hours: 27 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year (term time only) plus 3 training days during school holidays
What the role involves
* Providing a range of activities and opportunities for pupils at lunch and after school clubs
* Engaging and building positive relationships with pupils and staff
* Effective communication using a range of augmented communication systems with pupils
* Effective verbal and written communication with staff, parents and external professionals
* Coordinating a small team
* Supervision of less experienced Speech and Language Therapists, Therapy assistants and therapy students
* Following school policies to help keep everyone safe and supported
* Potential driving responsibilities
What we're looking for
* Experience of working with children at lunchtimes in school setting
* Maths and English GCSE Grade C/4 or above
* Experience of working with learners with autism or learning disabilities (highly advantageous)
* A valid driving licence (desirable)
* Most importantly, we\'re looking for someone with patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for supporting young people
