Job Description
The Senior Estimator will:
3. Prepare detailed cost estimates for multi-utilities construction projects.
4. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop accurate project budgets.
5. Analyse project requirements and specifications to determine materials, labour, and equipment costs.
6. Review and assess tender documents and contracts to ensure compliance and accuracy.
7. Provide value engineering recommendations to optimise project costs and efficiency.
8. Maintain and update cost databases for future project estimations.
9. Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and quotes.
10. Prepare and present cost reports to stakeholders and management.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Senior Estimator should have:
11. Proven experience in estimating within the construction sector, specifically in multi-utilities projects.
12. A strong understanding of the building and construction industry and related construction processes.
13. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
14. The ability to build estimates from first principles.
15. Proficiency in relevant software and tools for cost estimation and budgeting (RIB CCS Candy iTWO).
16. Strong communication and negotiation skills for liaising with suppliers and stakeholders.
17. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
18. HNC / HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction or Quantity Surveying or equivalent industry experience.
19. Strong Microsoft Office and PDF Xchange Editor skills.
