Job Description Overview
At AtkinsRéalis, we are seeking an Associate Director Civil Pipeline Engineer to lead technical design delivery for large‑scale pipeline projects with our Water market clients. The role is based in Leeds or Manchester with a hybrid working model (3 days per week in office).
Your Role
In this leadership position you will:
* Lead a team of Civil Pipeline engineers on complex multi‑disciplinary projects in line with national and project‑specific design codes and standards.
* Develop and oversee project design deliverables and collaborate with project management to meet time and budget objectives.
* Manage production, review and approve technical deliverables such as design reports, drawings, calculations and scopes of work.
* Provide technical leadership across the D&AT practice, influencing initiatives and recommending best practices.
* Develop and grow the Civil Pipeline Engineering capabilities within the regional and/or national practice.
* Guide junior team members, solving difficult problems and providing mentorship.
About You
The ideal candidate has:
* A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent discipline.
* Chartered status in Civil Engineering.
* Proven experience leading large‑scale civil pipeline design delivery in a multi‑disciplinary consultancy environment.
* Deep knowledge of pipeline design, including construction, rehabilitation, condition assessment, commissioning, operation and maintenance.
* Expertise in current UK and international design codes and standards, including CDM Regulations.
* Proficiency with digital analysis packages such as HADES and Varism.
* Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
* A proactive, collaborative mindset that drives teamwork and excellence across projects.
Security Clearance
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be contingent upon obtaining the relevant level of clearance. The vetting process is carried out by the United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) service.
