An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role will include overseeing credit-related activities such as risk management, developing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based position at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience in a busy credit control environment,
* Possess strong financial understanding,
* Be capable of problem-solving,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Have excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the main contact with Credit Insurers, monitor insured limits, handle claims, and assist with renewal negotiations,
* Lead monthly meetings with senior management,
* Provide management information on debt and collection metrics,
* Manage cash collection across all group companies,
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are efficient and compliant,
* Oversee the Credit Control team,
* Process credit applications and PODs,
* Make major credit decisions,
* Manage credit limits,
* Handle litigation and insolvency matters,
* Set and enforce credit policies,
* Conduct risk assessments for existing and new credit applicants,
* Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders,
* Review sales terms and conditions,
* Visit customers and sites as needed.
