Overview
The purpose of this position is to provide administration support to the City Services Directorate. This position directly reports to and will work closely with the Business Supervisor City Services. Other key relationships include all officers of the directorate, outdoor employees, executive-line managers, members of the public / residents and employees of other councils, representatives of public utility organisations, builders, developments, service providers, members of legal and risk management industries. This role is located 20km west of Sydney on Dharug country within the Cumberland City Council area, which serves a diverse community.
Responsibilities
* Provide administration support to the City Services Directorate and assist the Business Supervisor City Services as required.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery and project administration.
* Contribute to maintaining efficient office systems and document management processes.
Qualifications
* Certificate IV in Business or related field or demonstrated relevant experience in business support function.
* Knowledge of service delivery processes for the City Services Directorate.
* Demonstrated experience in business support services, preferably within local government.
* Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to providing a superior customer experience.
* Demonstrated high level communication skills both written and verbal with a proven ability to establish effective internal and external relationships.
* High level numeracy skills along with strong experience of financial administration.
* High level computer skills, including word processing, report writing, database and spreadsheet creation and experience with document management software and systems.
* Sound problem solving skills with the ability to recommend and implement business improvement processes.
* Able to work effectively as part of a team or autonomously without immediate supervision.
* Good organisational skills including the ability to manage own workload and prioritise multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
Terms and Conditions
* Term contract (up to 12 months), full-time position
* 70 hour fortnight
* Access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement
* Located at Council's Guildford Depot, with occasional travel across Council worksites and may be required to work across any of Council's work locations
* Salary and conditions in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award
* Grade 9 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,503.92 to $1,842.30 per week, plus 12% superannuation
* The commencing salary will be negotiated based on qualifications, skills and experience
