Position Title: Labour Coordinator
Business Unit: Operations – Scotland
Primary Base: Inverness (travel throughout Scotland as required)
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000/Annum + Benefits
About the Role
TAG Construction Ltd is excited to announce a new opportunity for a Labour Coordinator to join our Scotland-based operations team. We are looking for a driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment. You will be at the heart of our workforce management strategy, supporting high-volume recruitment and personnel coordination across major construction projects in the region.
This position is perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of office-based coordination and on-the-ground workforce engagement. You will work closely with site supervisors and Health & Safety teams to ensure operational success and workforce satisfaction across a broad range of project sites. The successful candidate will make sure the right trades and labour are on the right sites, on time and fully briefed, so that TAG Construction projects across Scotland run safely, efficiently and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
Labour Planning & Deployment
Match labour availability, skills, and tickets to site requirements using internal scheduling tools
Forecast labour peaks and shortfalls, arranging supplementary labour as needed
Resource Sourcing
Build and maintain a pool of vetted labour resources.
Validate and manage worker certifications (CSCS/CPCS), right-to-work status, and medicals
Travel & Logistics
Arrange transportation, lodging, and travel allowances for site teams
Optimise travel routes and issue mobilisation packs
Site Liaison & Communication
Act as the first point of contact for Site Managers regarding labour matters
Conduct weekly site visits or calls for updates and feedback
Safety & Compliance
Ensure site-specific inductions and PPE are provided
Monitor training expiry dates and book courses as required
Report near misses and handle operative-related safety issues
Administration & Reporting
Approve and submit agency timesheets to Payroll
Maintain labour cost records by project
Produce reports on workforce utilisation and cost variances
Requirements
Proven experience in workforce coordination, preferably within construction or similar industries
Working knowledge of CSCS/CPCS, UK right-to-work legislation, and Working Time regulations
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Zoho Recruit or similar platforms is a plus
Strong communication and multitasking skills
Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout Scotland
