Junior Quality Engineer

An established manufacturing business is seeking a Junior Quality Engineer to support quality and inspection activities across production. This role is ideal for someone with around 1 year’s experience in an aerospace or precision engineering environment who is looking to develop a long-term career in quality.
You will work closely with experienced quality professionals and gain exposure to inspection, quality documentation, and aerospace quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out dimensional inspection of aerospace components
Inspect components against 2D engineering drawings and work instructions
Use hand-held measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, and gauges
Support first-off and in-process inspections
Assist with completion of quality and inspection reports
Support final inspection activities prior to despatch
Help maintain calibration and control of inspection equipment
Assist with housekeeping, 5S, and quality compliance activities
Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives
Experience & Skills Required
Around 12 months’ experience in a quality or inspection role within:
Aerospace, or
Precision engineering / manufacturing
Ability to read and understand 2D engineering drawings
Basic understanding of tolerances and inspection principles
Experience using hand-held measuring equipment
Good attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset
Willingness to learn and develop within a quality engineering function
Desirable (Not Essential)
Exposure to aerospace quality standards (e.g. AS9100 / ISO9001)
Basic knowledge of GD&T
Any exposure to FAIRs, first-offs, or SPC
CMM awareness or training

37.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 15:00
