We are seeking an experienced and passionate leader to take on the role of Manager – Early Years (SEND). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of young children aged 0–5 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage a team of Early Years SEND Advisers, ensuring high-quality support and compliance with statutory requirements
2. Oversee the effective allocation and monitoring of an Early Years Inclusion Fund
3. Support early years settings, schools, and childminders to meet the needs of children with SEND
4. Provide expert advice, challenges, and guidance to practitioners and SENCOs
5. Deliver and develop high-quality training programmes for early years professionals
6. Promote inclusive practice and early identification of SEND through assessment and intervention
7. Build strong multi-agency partnerships across education, health, and social care
8. Support successful transitions for children between settings and into school
9. Monitor children’s progress and ensure positive outcomes
What We’re Looking For
10. Highly experienced in supporting young children with SEND
11. Knowledgeable in early childhood development and SEND legislation
12. A confident leader with strong people management skills
13. Experienced in delivering training and supporting professional development
14. Skilled in working collaboratively with families and multi-disciplinary teams
15. An excellent communicator with strong organisational abilities
16. Proactive, solution-focused, and able to work independently and as part of a team
Essential Requirements
17. Degree or relevant professional qualification in SEND or a related field
18. Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and frameworks
19. Proven experience in a SEND or education setting
20. Experience of leading teams and managing performance
21. Commitment to inclusive practice and equal opportunities
Desirable
22. Experience managing budgets or funding allocations
23. Experience developing partnerships across services
24. Evidence of ongoing professional development
