Salary: £80,000 - 110,000 per year Requirements: We are looking for candidates with strong Python proficiency for RF data analysis and prototyping, including experience with libraries like NumPy, SciPy, matplotlib, scikit-learn, and PyTorch. You should have a solid understanding of DSP fundamentals, familiarity with SDR frameworks such as GNU Radio, SDRangel, osmoSDR, or SoapySDR, and a practical understanding of RF hardware chains. Experience analyzing wireless protocols (like Wi-Fi, LTE, or LoRa) and their physical-layer structures is essential. We expect you to be comfortable debugging SDR setups and performing field-based RF data collection. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within an iterative R&D team are a must. Responsibilities: In this hands-on R&D role, you will analyze raw IQ data from SDR platforms to extract, classify, and interpret RF signal features. You will build diagnostic RF analysis tools and design RF data-processing pipelines built around practical hardware constraints. Your job will also involve modeling RF front-end behavior to improve signal integrity and inference accuracy and developing ML and statistical models for RF classification, anomaly detection, and emitter identification. Prototyping real-time or batch-processing systems in Python with potential integration via ZMQ, GNU Radio, or C++ backends is part of the role. Additionally, you will lead RF data collection, field experiments, and over-the-air testing using drones, wireless devices, and custom transmitters. Technologies: AI GNU Hardware PyTorch Python numpy Embedded FPGA Machine Learning Matlab Rust More: We are a fast-growing AI company based near Cambridge, focused on pioneering advancements in UAV/drone detection technologies. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, iterative prototyping environments, and you will play a key role in prototyping new sensing capabilities and working with SDRs. Your involvement will directly contribute to early-stage hardware-software product development, and the location can be either onsite or hybrid, depending on project needs.
