A Snapshot of Your Day
As an Inspection Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of components across all stages of the manufacturing process. You will carry out inspections using both manual and digital tools, including CMM and 3D scanning systems, while maintaining rigorous documentation and supporting continuous improvement. Working closely with colleagues across engineering and production, you’ll ensure that all inspection activities meet Siemens Energy’s exacting standards of quality and integrity.
How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Plan and perform inspection tasks in line with customer and business requirements using Hexagon CMMs (PC-DMIS), Zeiss blue light 3D scanners, and a range of manual tools.
2. Document inspection results accurately using Excel and Zeiss Piweb.
3. Identify, report, and manage quality issues through the non-conformance management process.
4. Ensure all inspection activities are completed with integrity and in accordance with good practice and high-quality standards.
5. Conduct and contribute to departmental 5S and TPM activities.
6. Support and advise colleagues with inspection-related queries and technical challenges.
7. Contribute to QMS development and support the introduction of new inspection technologies and methods.
8. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in inspection methodology and implement effective solutions.
What You Bring
9. Broad inspection experience covering non-conformance handling, reporting, approval/rejection, and identifying appropriate inspection methods.
10. Strong competence with both manual and computerised inspection tools and techniques.
11. Confident in drawing and standard interpretation to ASME, ISO, and customer specifications.
12. Skilled in CMM operation, multi-part setups, and universal or part-specific fixturing.
13. Experience with Zeiss Inspect GOM scanning, including scanning complex geometries and producing basic reports.
14. Strong attention to detail and a proactive, methodical approach to quality.
15. Confident communicating and advising on inspection topics across departments.
16. Competent IT user with experience in ERP systems, MS Office, and basic CAD packages.
17. Experience working with castings, additive manufactured parts, and machined components (preferred).
