Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger Assistant About the Employer Our client is a well-established business in the construction industry that prides itself on being a family-friendly employer with a supportive, collaborative culture. The Role We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts / Purchase Ledger Assistant to join the wider finance team of 15. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong purchase ledger experience and good attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Process high volumes of invoices, goods received notes, and match them to purchase orders Request credits and resolve discrepancies where required Accurately code and enter invoices into the purchase ledger system within deadlines Respond to purchase ledger queries and liaise with internal teams and external suppliers Carry out supplier statement reconciliations and manage payment queries at month-end Suggest and implement improvements to streamline processes and enhance efficiency Provide general administrative support to the finance function Take on additional duties where required, consistent with the scope of the role Skills & Experience Previous experience in an accounts or purchase ledger role Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities Whats on Offer Competitive salary circa £27,500 per year A friendly, supportive and inclusive working environment Ongoing professional development and training opportunities A people-first employer that values work-life balance and employee wellbeing If you are interested in exploring this opportunity further and think it suits your experience/skills, click APPLY or contact Julie Henry at Orchard Recruitment Ltd directly.
