What you’ll be doing
* Ensure all database platforms are highly available.
* Ensure all data sources are secure, with access controlled, reviewed and audited.
* Support BI developers, application experts and middleware developers in integrating and reporting on accurate data.
* Work with third parties for new installations, upgrades, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and general guidance to meet requirements.
* Respond to support escalations from DevOps and technical colleagues, providing specific troubleshooting expertise.
* Build strong relationships in the business to understand objectives, data requirements and demonstrate data value.
* Control execution of data management tasks.
* Configure, maintain and maximise proactive monitoring using tools such as Redgate and New Relic.
* Populate and maintain software development lifecycle environments.
Who we’re looking for
* Experience with SQL Server 2019 and Azure SQL.
* Proven ability as a Database Administrator in a similar role.
* Strong operations experience in troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
* Experience of performance tuning and optimisation.
* Strong proficiency with Microsoft T‑SQL.
* Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
* Experience using native and third‑party performance monitoring tools such as Redgate SQL Monitor and New Relic.
