When you join us as a Senior Treasury Accountant in this 1 year Secondment, you'll take on a role central to our success. As part of a Treasury team that manages over £15bn of bond and loan financing, supported by more than £19bn of derivative instruments, you will soon see the scale and complexity of our financing operation, and how that creates incredibly interesting and challenging work. As Senior Treasury Accountant/Manager, you will maintain day-to-day control over Treasury transactions and reconciliations within the Treasury Control team. Developing excellent working relationships with Treasury Front Office, Tax, Central Finance and the Business Services team will be key to this role. You'll liaise with the company's auditors (internal and external) to ensure that all transactions relating to Treasury activity are recorded correctly and in accordance with the relevant standards.
Responsibilities
* Preparing financial reports that track the performance of investments - e.g. income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements
* Reviewing financial statements to determine whether transactions have been recorded accurately, checking for compliance with laws and regulations, such as the US GAAP
* Dialogue with internal and external auditors
* Preparing finance cost and fair value Master Business Plans (MBP's), budgets for Groups and subsequent forecasts in collaboration with Front Office Treasury and corporate finance teams
* Managing the financing assumptions for input into business projects, Treasury compliance with standards and modelling the annual MBP and forecasts
* Initial assessment of the eligibility of hedge designations and subsequent hedge accounting
Qualifications
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA) or related accounting qualification
* Considerable Treasury accounting experience
* Strong analytical ability including data analysis skills to interpret and draw conclusions from large amounts of data
* Thorough understanding of budgeting and forecasting methods, with ability to create the MBP budget model, forecasts that aligns with the company's goals and objectives
