This role is responsible for the operational and laboratory functions within the Randox Clinical Laboratory Services laboratory. Some of the key duties include:
* Ensuring that all laboratory-based testing for clinical diagnostics and clinical trial samples is conducted accurately in accordance with RCLS standard operating procedures and compliant with ISO/IEC 17025, ISO IEC 15189, GCP, and MHRA Good Clinical Practice.
* Liaising with Quality Personnel to ensure effective collection and testing procedures meet regulatory and international standards.
* Reviewing IQC & EQA performance across all instruments and sites, taking remedial action for deviations.
* Meeting deadlines and turnaround times for projects.
* Providing technical advice on diagnostic testing and clinical trial sample analysis.
* Ensuring daily quality control checks meet internal and external standards.
* Supervising laboratory staff, conducting appraisals, and delivering training.
* Reviewing and trending analytical data for patient results.
* Evaluating laboratory/instrument capacity to improve efficiency.
* Maintaining sample integrity at all times.
* Writing and updating Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
* Liaising with clients to ensure high-quality service.
* Guiding and approving the development of new test methods in compliance with regulations.
Who can apply?
* Degree-level qualification in Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Immunology, or a related Life Science.
* Experience in diagnostic testing and reagent applications.
* Previous laboratory experience, especially in clinical testing laboratories.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Strong leadership qualities and self-motivation.
* Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
* Previous managerial and laboratory management experience.
* Knowledge of quality systems and health and safety regulations, including CoSHH.
