Location: Council Offices, Almada Street, Hamilton, ML3 0AA

Hours: 35 hours per week

Work Pattern: Monday - Thursday 8:45am - 4:45pm and Friday 8:45 - 4:15pm

Salary: £31, - £38, annual salary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Information Technology Graduate to join the Planning and Regulatory Service. The post will focus on the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data to support the preparation of the Council's statutory Local Development Plan and Open Space Strategy and identifying linkages between data output and the development of place-based spatial strategy and policy.

Key responsibilities:

1. Collect, analyse and theme qualitative and quantitative data to support the Council’s statutory planning function, using methodical and consistent techniques. This will include identifying linkages between data output and the development of place-based spatial strategy and policy.
2. Attend and support engagement events with local communities, partners and stakeholders to gather qualitative data which will contribute towards the Council’s Local Development Plan and Open Space Strategy
3. Manage, communicate and present data clearly and transparently that meets the needs of the Service’s customers and users and in a manner that is inclusive and accessible
4. Research and advise on options for improvements in information systems, data management, processes/procedures, organisation and equipment and develop platforms for spatial data management and presentation.
5. Assist in supporting the delivery of digital improvements within the Planning and Building Standards Service.
6. Apply available standards, methods and tools in an intelligent and effective way, and produce reports and documentation of both a technical and descriptive nature.

10. What experience do you have of working with large datasets from different sources?
11. What experience do you have of collecting, cleaning, analysing and reporting data?
