Overview
A Vacancy at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Band 6 – Plus 12.5% RRP and 5% HCA. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to join the friendly and supportive Cardiology team at West Herts on a 5-month fixed-term contract. The position is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to hone their non-invasive skills, including ambulatory ECG analysis, remote ILR analysis and leading exercise tolerance tests. Depending on previous experience, there may be opportunities to further develop in-person and remote pacing follow-up knowledge and skills with support from BHRS accredited physiologists. The post holder will be primarily based at Watford with rotations at St Albans and Hemel Hempstead Hospitals to cover outpatient activities.
Responsibilities
* Cover core service hours: 09:00 to 17:00, Monday – Friday.
* Provide high professional standard of care using experience and knowledge at Band 6 level.
* Perform independent non-invasive technical tasks during ambulatory ECG analysis and exercise tolerance testing.
* Support ILR and/or brady PPM in-person and remote follow-up where applicable.
* Aim to achieve BHRS Devices certification or recognised equivalent, supported by the department throughout the process.
* Contribute to service improvements, departmental audits, clinical governance and quality assurance.
* Support the personal and professional development of other cardiac physiologists and assistant cardiac practitioners.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team activities and report to Lead Cardiac Physiologists.
Qualifications
* BSc in Clinical Physiology, or equivalent, with appropriate autonomy for a Band 6 role.
* Independent non-invasive technical expertise for ambulatory ECG analysis and exercise tolerance testing.
* Ideally, experience supporting ILR and/or brady PPM in-person and remote follow-up.
* Desire to achieve BHRS Devices certification, or recognised equivalent.
* Willingness to participate in certification process and departmental development.

* Work in a multidisciplinary team including cardiac physiologists, assistant cardiac practitioners, radiographers, consultants, medical and nursing staff, and other personnel.
