Test Technician (12 months Fixed Term Contract)
This is a great chance to join the high-performing, close-knit Test team at Vax. As a Test Engineer, you will fulfill a critical role in the Test department within the New Product Development team by conducting detailed performance testing on new and existing products, assisting in the development of new technology, designing experiments, and analysing and reporting results. Your role will be vital in providing the information necessary to support decision-making across all of Vax’s NPD projects.
Day to day
The test team works closely with many Vax areas, including R&D, Electronics, Projects, Quality, and Product management. The role is vital to assist Vax in delivering high specification floorcare products in the UK and global markets. The role covers the following -
* Conduct accurate and reliable performance testing on prototype and pre-production Vax products to support our New Product Development team.
* Understand all relevant test standards and ensure all products are tested correctly through correct processes and preparation.
* Maintaining a safe and tidy work space
* Proposing and implementing laboratory best practices in terms of processes and equipment.
* Inputting test data, findings and results separately into documents and templates.
* Reporting test results and findings both verbally and in a written report format to relevant NPD team members.
* Keeping up to date with current developments within the floor care industry.
What We Need From You
The test role is very practical, and we need a technician who likes being in the workshop performing tests, as well as an individual who is constantly looking to improve what do. The ability to assess the test rig and improve the quality of results is key.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Methodical and conscientious and able to react to rapidly changing requirements from the NPD team.
* Ability to learn quickly and follow/understand precise instructions and procedures.
* Inquisitive mind, asking questions when unsure.
* Able to report technical information clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
