We’re recruiting on behalf of a progressive and supportive Local Authority in Greater Manchester, seeking skilled Social Workers to join their Court & Locality Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a varied caseload that includes Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Care Proceedings. Enjoy true flexibility — as long as you meet your statutory requirements and complete visits, you manage your own diary.
The Role
You’ll be:
1. Managing a diverse caseload of CIN, CP, and court-involved families
2. Conducting robust assessments and planning effective interventions
3. Writing high-quality reports for case conferences and court
4. Building trusted relationships with children, families, and partner agencies
5. Championing child-centred practice and securing long-term positive outcomes
What We’re Looking For
We want to hear from Social Workers who are:
6. Registered with Social Work England
7. Degree or equivalent in SOCIAL WORK
8. Experienced (4+ years PQ) in safeguarding, court, and statutory children’s work
9. Confident in child protection legislation and local authority procedures
10. Excellent at building rapport and maintaining professional relationships with children and families
11. Collaborative team players who thrive in multi-agency settings
12. Flexible, resilient, and passionate about improving outcomes

13. Undertake assessments of risk and need
14. Deliver individualised care and protection plans
15. Use your communication skills to achieve the best outcomes
16. Support and mentor students or less experienced staff
17. Promote dignity, diversity, and child-centred planning in all you do
