Job title: Principal Process Safety Engineer
Location: Barrow-in-Furness – we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Please speak to your recruiter about options for this role.
What you’ll be doing:
* Completing DSEAR risk assessments and compliance activities
* Mentoring and developing junior engineers
* Reviewing and producing explosion safety strategies
* Developing and producing process and policy documentation for the site
Your skills and experiences:
* Experience in explosion safety engineering and hazard analysis methods
* Experience in DSEAR risk assessments, hazard identification, and analysis (preferably in high hazard industries)
* Thorough understanding of Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) and proven track record in implementing business processes to meet strategic goals
* Degree in a STEM discipline
* Experience with COMAH – Control of Major Accident Hazards (Safety Case support)
* Site Asset Protection and Fire Safety Engineering experience

The Safety and Environmental Team:
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team involved in strategic initiatives. You will work with team members from principals to apprentices, liaising with operational managers, department heads, and the Health & Safety teams. This role provides exposure to the Wider Control Damage Hazards team and opportunities for professional growth. We offer relocation support for all Submarines roles, subject to eligibility.
