About the role

As an SEO Writer at Hargreaves Lansdown, you will be responsible for creating compelling, search-optimised content that drives organic traffic and supports the company’s digital marketing objectives. Reporting to the Senior Content Manager, you will collaborate with content creators, digital marketers, and subject matter experts to produce high-quality articles, landing pages, and web copy that align with SEO best practices and HL’s brand voice.
What you’ll be doing
1. Researching and writing SEO-optimised content for the HL website, blog, and other digital platforms.
2. Conducting keyword research and apply SEO strategies to improve search engine rankings.
3. Collaborating with the Senior Content Manager and other team members to align content with marketing campaigns and business goals.
4. Monitoring content performance using analytics tools and make data-driven recommendations for optimization, constantly applying learning to improve performance outcomes.
5. Ensuring all content adheres to brand guidelines, tone of voice, and compliance standards.
6. Staying up to date with SEO trends, algorithm updates, and content marketing best practices.
7. Supporting the development of content calendars and contribute to content planning sessions.
8. Investigating and understanding performance of SEO content, understanding where improvements can be made and taking action to improve.
About you
9. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong grasp of grammar and style.
10. Proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar.
11. Strong research skills and the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging content.
12. Strong analytical skills particularly within SEO performance metrics.
13. Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and basic HTML.
14. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
15. Proven experience in SEO writing or digital content creation.
16. Understanding of financial services or experience writing in a regulated industry is desirable.
17. Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics to inform content strategy.

Working Schedule
This role is based in our Bristol head office (BS1 5HL) and we offer a hybrid working pattern, with a minimum of two days in the office per week.
