Specialist Paediatric Dentist
We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate and enthusiastic Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry to join our dynamic and forward-thinking service.
We are a large organisation providing paediatric and special care dentistry across ten boroughs in north London. You will work alongside our dedicated team in fully equipped clinics and be well-supported by our current paediatric specialists an experienced nursing and management team.
The post-holder will be responsible for specialist treatment (including treatment under general anaesthesia and conscious sedation) of children with complex needs. The post holder will also be expected to provide clinical leadership for the development of Paediatric Dentistry in the service and attend our virtual advice clinics to provide guidance for cases requiring specialist input through the service's Advice and Guidance pathways.
This post is for our NWL & NCL boroughs.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be responsible for specialist treatment (including treatment under general anaesthesia and conscious sedation) of children with complex needs referred to the service, as well as providing clinical leadership and training for the development of Paediatric Dentistry in the service. The majority of the post will involve providing clinical care but there will also be responsibilities in the areas of clinical governance, training, management and supervision of the Paediatric team

Job responsibilities
CLINICAL
* To provide Specialist Paediatric clinical care to Children with additional or special care needs.
* To provide a comprehensive dental treatment service for patients who require special paediatric care
* To manage the delivery of specialist Paediatric dentistry within dental surgeries and in other sites, and to ensure that treatment is provided safely, effectively and efficiently.
LEADERSHIP and MANAGEMENT
* To provide clinical supervision of staff, potentially including trainees in paediatric dentistry.
* To carry out appraisals of colleagues and implement appropriate training programmes.
Person Specification
Registration Essential
* Holding, full registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council (GDC)
* On for the NHS Dental Performers List
Professional Qualifications Essential
* Passed the Tricollegiate MPaedDent Examination
* Evidence of continuing post-graduate education
EXPERIENCE Essential
* Experience or training such that the applicant has reached a standard equivalent to that expected after 3 years of specialist training in Paediatric Dentistry
* Additional NHS experience in Paediatric Dentistry following the attainment of the above standard
